Ever wondered what sort of person reaches for that answer?

Step forward Jackie.

Jackie bought a property at £350k on the hard shoulder of a dual carriageway. Since buying the house Jackie has discovered that lorries are noisy. I wonder what she wants the 70mph speed limit reduced to in order to stop the lorries being noisy.

I'm actually surprised it's a 70 when there are quite a few residential properties on that road. Looking at streetview history it seems a decent amount of development has happened over the last 6 years or so which hasn't been properly considered.

Not sure i'd want my kids playing football there either going on how often the ball would go over the neighbours garden when I was a kid laugh

Did they not notice this noise when they went to view the house?

Did they not notice the DUAL CARRIAGEWAY when they went to view the house?

This is the same person that moves next to a race track and then tries to get a noise abatement order.

I presume they were hoping for the council to revoke the planning permission, which would force the developer to demolish the houses and refund them.

What really surprised me, looking on Street view is that this isn't the back of an estate which is up against the dual carriageway (which you might not notice if buying off-plan), but the entrance to the small close (more like a shared drive really) of about 10 houses is directly off that dual carriageway. It shouldn't have been given planning permission - looks like the site was originally a garage of some sort, but the people buying there must have known what they were moving into.

Interestingly, there isn't a 30 sign on the entrance to that close and another small esate of houses a bit further down, which means the residential road is also national speed limit.....

From the article I posted:
"She and her husband spoke out about the issue in the press, calling for a lower speed limit on the A-road, crash barriers to protect the garden, and speed cameras to improve the situation for them and their neighbours in Coleshil, Warwickshire."

Wow £350k and 9 feet away from a dual carriageway! The pollution levels coming towards that house must be off the scale.

Funny that she says they can't sell the house because no one will buy it, yes no one with any common sense would buy that house...

My first thought when reading articles like this are, congratulations on making the (albeit, very obvious) downsides of your property permanently available online.

imagine trying to sell that house on, its subject to national media coverage.

If I had made the same catastrophic mistake as them, clearly buying with the blinkers on, I'd want out of it as soon as possible and as quietly as can be.
