The war in Ukraine has really started to affect car production in Russia . Lada has released details of a new spec model.

The new spec Niva Travel model comes without airbags, ABS ,and equipped with a EURO 2 spec engine, The link says its to do with sanctions and it will be released for sale in June. By the autumn the new standard will have to be applied across the whole range unless new (Chinese ) suppliers can be found for sensors and chips.
It seems kind of appealing for a farm vehicle , I believe Niva means field in Russian ,which is the only place this will be safe to drive.

Yes. I quite fancied a new Niva after the Jonny Smith review and a number of other recent UK road tests, I even priced one up to replace our Panda, for collection from a Moscow dealer with a view to going to fetch it, at quite a saving over the UK importers price too.
So glad I didn't, wouldn't touch one now.
