Possibly another cover up? Or a storm in a teacup, you decide.

After the dieselgate malarkey and the appalling delayed response which just made things worse VW appointed a board member in charge of integrity and legal affairs, and set up a programme designed to make sure any wrongdoing is reported.

Yet it's been revealed by FT and again in DT that in September 21 a senior manager reported a problem with the payments system that is a subsidiary of VW finance.

This system is intended to process purchases for entire VW group including Audi, Porsche, Scania, provides financing to dealers and customers and has already accepted advance payments for various models.

The employee told VW of an attempted albeit unsuccessful hack that vulnerabilities existed, the system was open to future fraud and that if the problems were not addressed the company could be subject to regulatory action. Yet in the next month October 21 the employee who is being referenced by some as a whistleblower was terminated for reasons of non compatibility according to VW. scratchchin

So much for the supposed speak up environment without fear of reprisal.
