A 20mph speed limit introduced to a Fife village in 2016 has been scrapped at a cost of £10,000 – because motorists were refusing to follow it.

It's surprising but refreshing that the 85th percentile rule is still being used like this.

I thought that council's had long abandoned the traditional 85th percentile method, having opted to set speed limits on political grounds, rather than based on science & safety grounds.
