John Davenport's fraud ?

I regularly read interviews with the ex Austin Rover head of Motorsport but see no mention of his prison sentence for fraud whilst with the company. I seem to remember something about to do with the Metro project and can't find the fuller details.
Does anyone know more or can remember from the day the details of the case ?

I think it was just being caught with his fingers in the till. There was a lot of money involved in GpB, and it must’ve been too tempting.
