PSA Group, the second-largest Europe-based automaker in 2018 measured by sales numbers, is targeting even more acquisitions. After taking over the control of Opel and its British subsidiary, Vauxhall, nearly two years ago, the French company wants to expand its business by reportedly eyeing Fiat Chrysler Automobiles or Jaguar Land Rover as its next acquisition targets.

GM also seen as a potential strategic partner.

I couldn't imagine JLR falling into French Government ownership.

Actually, post Brexit I could very well imagine it happening. HQ relocated to the Netherlands or Dublin with production moved to Austria and France.

Well imagine that. A Fiat and/or a Jaguar/Land Rover becoming even more unreliable.

Would the Italian government allow Fiat to be taken over? I know in the past - take over of Alfa by Ford for eg - have been blocked. On the other hand I am sure the UK government would more then happy to allow JLR to be taken over, the less industry in the UK the better, would help to meet its green targets.

I love it how people think Peugeot are unreliable because they are French, no doubt they have not checked their German exotica on the latest reliability index (don't look in the top 10, they are not there, Peugeot on the other hand are, amusing I think).

EU have approved merger of PSA and Fiat group
Some concessions on the commercial/van side but it looks like PSA group will be no 4 in the world
