Be interesting to see who exactly this affects and what specific jobs. I worked as a temp in body in white when the XE was launched a few years ago - I had a perm job to go to which I'm still doing but was made redundant a few months before my start date - I was part of a team of temps who did the dirty jobs, mostly running sealant around mating faces of components before they were passed to the robots to be welded together and/drilling holes in small assemblies and stick rivnuts in. The "full time" staff won't be happy doing those jobs as well as loading the robot jigs. I say "full time" as they're not really permanent for the first few years of their contracts, they're employed by Manpower, so effectively temps as well, albeit better paid and treated than we were.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43756202
