Rover 25 radio code

Is there a cheap way of getting a radio code for a R770 phillips car stereo?

Replaced battery on partners car, not realising this would activate the code on the radio, unfortunately the code wasn't passed onto us when we bought the car 3 years ago.

Serial number RG594FY1138022 from a year 2000 Rover 25.

Have tried some of the free forums, but they can only get codes which are pre 1999.

Have you tried your old MG Rover dealer? They may still have access to some computer records, but will probably need to see V5 to prove ownership.

I had the same problem on my r25 but seeing as its a phillips its slightly harder to find a code but try.
