Will my Rover 45 run on Biodiesel?
Discussion
If its intercooled, yes. The intercooled engine can run on straight veg oil without modification or issue. The non intercooled engine, no.
Hence biodiesel should be fine. If you're concerned, rum a little FB rated 2 stroke oil in the tank as well. It smooths out diesels no end.
Tough, tough engine the L series. A real forgotton gem I think.

I can vouch for that - the 45 TDi which I traded in for my current car was a flyer, 126k on the clock, never used oil between changes, went like the clappers. The ride quality was tons better than my Saab Sportwagon I now have, probably due to the Saab's lower profile tyres - the rover would not crash and bang over the stty road surfaces of our village like the Saab does.I really miss that Rover......(except it would not pull my current caravan!)
