V8 badge fixing - how please?

I've got a couple of 2nd hand V8 badges as fitted to P5, P6, MGBGT etc and they have 2 tapering pins on the back but I can't fatham how they fix? I'm guessing they slot into a hole and as they push in the taper fixes them in place. They'd be going on a TVR so not as easy with fibreglass if this is the case.
Done an interweb search but can't find anything.
Any help appreciated.

hi there,
the v8 badge was never fitted to the p5b,they were fitted in two ways,depending on where they went.
star grip washers,and little plastic plugs like mini rawl plugs..
rather than drill holes in your fibreglass,which you really dont want to do,cut pins off and 3m double side tape them.
