Rover 1.1C Metro Engine

Can anyone tell me whether my 1990 Metro 1.1C engine is part of the Rover 'K' series of engines? I've a car with an engine that's only covered 47K from new and I was thinking of putting it in an MG Midget? Can it be done and is it capable of being tuned? It seems too good to scrap (body work too rusty). Thanks
