Rover 220 Temp Guage & Clock N/W

Hi,

can anyone comment on what could cause both the temp gauge and the clock to not work (simultaneously) on my Rover 220 Coupe (2.0 T series)?
The sender looks ok, with ~330ohms when warm...
Help appreciated!

In case anyone else comes searching on this, the two issues are unrelated and it was just a coincidence they failed simultaneously. Temp sensor needs replacement and the clock is a dicky connection.
There are two temp sensors on the T series thermostat bell housing: the one for the gauge is the lower one with the single spade connector. The upper twin pin one is for the ECU. J
