Hiya folks thought i'd write a little piece on my 620 turbo as i'm sick to the back teeth of people taking the mick out of them. This is the 2nd dolphin grey turbo i've owned i would have had my first one 18 months now but her majestys finest bum bandits towed and crushed it the day the tax ran out. That one was running 250bhp on 14psi of boost and really upset the local idiots in there jap crap scooby's the look on there faces when the trusty old man cruiser slightly and i mean slightly pulled away from them was fantastic and considering scooby's go for around £1300 for a early turbo and i paid £500 for the rover it was'nt a bad car. But now i have the second one and the plans are bigger than ever before and a lot more power is available this time around even though the car has some pretty big problems at the moment.
The biggest problem is the T25 unit is'nt spinning at all i fitted the boost gauge i have the day after i brought the car to see what was wrong as my mate left me in a N reg 214sei so you can imagine i was'nt a happy bunny especially when the gauge did'nt move off 0PSI!!! But a few fone calls later really suprised me to what power gains were available for the old and tired 620 Ti. There will be a full rebuild profile to see as soon as i have some money to do the things i want to do to her to see what the car looks like and a plan of whats going to be done look at gooch-motorsportuk.piczo.com. I know itt's not the best site but it's not about how the site looks but what can be attcheived with the T series engine.
Thanks for reading this and feel free to look at the rebuild and leave any comments or tips as i need all the help i can get
Richie.

Dizzy ~ like many Brit products, underestimated from day one by the average Brits. We have four 620ti in the family ~ it has to be one of the most underestimated Q-type cars ... and here I use a "Clarksonism" ...

.... wink

... smile I occasionally demonstrate to those who look down there noses in their 'superior' alien wheels at my aged Rover when alongside me waiting for the green ... a very effective demonstration and one I never tire of doing.... then guess what... Then suddenly they invariably drop back in a vain attempt to disguise that they're not playing after all.... Yeah ... right... rolleyes

Not all drivers are like that. At the next lights hold up I've had them pull up alongside me, lower their window and ask what I've done to that old Rover that it should go like that. I truthfully reply ... nothing, just a bog standard but well maintained 620ti.

Enjoy but, keep 'em peeled ... some folks driving certain Gerry Built tinware don't like it up 'em ... Cap'n Mainwaring ....biggrin

Both are a good source for all things Rover and MG.

Now had time to have a good look around the web site. Keep up the good work ~ that's a lot to do if all that you plan materialises.

Good luck and keep the progress/setbacks updates coming.

It would be well worth searching the xpower & mg-rover.org forums for posts by a guy called Ti Rich regarding the upgrades he made to his 600ti - some very well thought out and effective modifications I remember.
