Rover 75, 2.5 Ltr, V6, Auto - Recon engine reqd ?.

A friend has a very unwell Rover 75, 2.5 Litre, V6 Auto, '53 reg. It's currently in dock with a reputable Rover specialist, awaiting a reconditioned engine, which to date, they have been unable to locate a source. Any ideas where he/the garage would be able to get one ?. Thanks.
