Dad needs a new car and was very fond of his old Rover 75 (boilied the water and killed it).

He does not like the MG boy racer look but would like some power. How many 75 260s were made? Are any for sale that have not been mollested?

Be patient ~ you'll find a nice 'unmolested' one.... eventually.

Same applies to sportier MGZT V8 260 which I prefer. Help keep prices down by spreading the Clarkson word that these cars, like all Rovers and MGs, are rubbish. Sadly, although most car consumers believe these Clarkson utterances ( hence MG-Rover no longer exist ) , sufficient prefer to use their own judgement and so when one of these 'rubbish' V8s becomes available, they rarely hang about unsold....frown

I was amazed to see this one avaliable locally only a few miles away from me:~

Popped down to view it ~ no chance! Sales exec told me that it was sold soon after that Autotrader ad appeared. Had people fighting over it according to him... could have sold it ten times and still getting enquiries. I have no reason to disbelieve him.

Don't forget ~ they're rubbish.... spread the word according to Clarkson ... smile...biggrin

...

ETA ... a smiley or two..

Apart from the fact that J.C. actually quite liked the ZT260. He was right about it being a bit underpowered as well; although it's reasonably quick in stock form it doesn't really feel it. A supercharger conversion transforms the ZTs from good to great.

Thanks,

He has contacted a man 'in the trade' to look out for one but his requirements are rather exacting, colour and spec, so am not holding out much hope.

Looks like the new car with be a Jaguar XJ instead.
