He's right about one thing though, I can confirm that it's worth getting a well cared for low mileage example to keep. Having a number of these over the years, I consider 100,000 low mileage!

No cars perform well in severe crash tests ~ even Volvos that most safety conscious of makers for decades.

Here I have in mind a Volvo crashing head on into another Volvo ~ a 44 tonne six axle articulated truck..... not nice....

Worth saying, the safest safety feature on any vehicle is the quality of the nut holding the steering wheel ...
