Not only Rovers, some of those ebay descriptions are quite entertaining they are so full of errors.

There was a time when I used to always "ask seller a question" when the description include somthing on the lines of "Very reliable "Honda" Turbocharged engine" ~ after all, despite having R O V E R all across the top of it ( Honda Motor Company would never allow another manufacturers' name on one of their engines.... smile... ) it must be a Honda it's so good .... stands to reason ... cannot be a Rover ... everyone knows that...

Have had several replies from sellers on those erroneous lines of reason.

I toyed with one vendor when viewing his Rover turbo prior to bidding that if as he describes, his car has a "Fabulous Honda Turbocharged engine" I would not be interested in bidding on it. Of course it was a Rover T16 turbo and I got the car. Even when I took the car away, he still would not hear that the engine was a Rover.

I have also corrected the vendor of a Honda Accord fitted with Rover's Diesel engine ~ another one of the many who believe that if the engine in their Rovers, or indeed some Hondas is so good, it must be a Honda .... everyone knows that...biggrin

I no longer bother ~ there's simply too many ignorant vendors out there... smile

yeah he said its 200bhp cause its the same as the turbo it is the same engine i give him that minus the turbo what made me laugh was he said hes a performance specialist but he should no these things or at least looked it up ive seen a few funny descriptions on rover saying it has a honda engine when clearly it isnt but if they think its gonna sell better cause they say its a honda engine wouldnt rover have done that in the first place knowing how good the honda engine is thanks for the info at least we can have a laugh about it
