Y'reet folks.

I've got a rover 218 VVC coupe just sitting round at the moment, with a nadgered starter motor. i've been warned off doing the job myself (I've been told its definatly an engine out job, which would cost megabucks if i get a garage to do it). But i've got to do something, its in too good nick to let it just decompose.

Anyone have any experiences on replacing the starter?

(alternativly, i keep thinking about getting a decent condition Montego for some reason, and chucking all the good bits in it. I dont know why, i mean if i struggle with a starter motor replacement, how the hell am i gonna transplant an engine/gearbox/ecu into a completly different car?)

Oh, and this isn't a disguised 'FOR SALE' post either, before any mods bring the ban stick!

Hi mate sorry for the late reply boxedin

Mine is held in with two bolts on the side of the gearbox nice and easy with good access. The only thing is the 1.8 and 2.0 are two different engines so might not be the same. Try over on www.rovertech.net loads of people run the 1.8VVC.
