Steering Squeek - Rover 600

I have an old N reg Rover 600 (Honda engined version) as my everyday snotter and so far its been brilliant.

In the last few weeks there is a loud continuous squeek / whine whenever I turn left. Its clearly directly connected to the steering. Power steering problem?

Anyone else had this and know if its an easy fix?

Low fluid/air in the system. Top up fluid and then shift steering from lock to lock half a dozen times.
