Rover 800 headgasket

Hi bit of a newbie here but I currently own a rover 800 sterling with the 2.5 kv6 engine and it looks like the head gasket has gone 69k as did most by the looks of things, has anybody actually gone through the process of having theres replaced with stronger gaskets, is it going to be worth it in the long run its just that I dont think I can bring myself to bin it as shes a beauty
