I currently own a BRM, the handling is a good if not better than the ZR, just that the ZR has a quicker ratio steering gear and slightly softer spring rates so it's feels more progressive into bends. The BRM handling is superb, at times the ride is a little hard but it has been set up by a rally driver around the road and test tracks at Gaydon proving ground.
I am not saying the ZR is a bad car, far from it, just that the BRM has more character and is a little more unique (only 794 were ever made).
If you have any more queries please fell free to get in touch.

I enjoyed mine, trim a bit rattly, slight rust coming around the arches and hatch hinges, however the HG went so it got flogged, shame as I hadnt had it long and it was fun to drive, lovely gearchange and I like the way it offended and engaged people in equal measure, very cheap now so get a good one and you are laughing.
Just watch the expansion tank, any whiff of coolant, overheating or other cooling system issues, run like mad.

I had a BRM a good few years ago and its still a fond memory.
Handling is much better than the ZR for sure. The BRM has more compliant suspension and a torsen limited slip diff. Combined with fatter tyres that the Vi it stuck well.
The engine was perky, and the box had closer ratios [same as Elise 111S I think].
The only downers for me were that the seats didn't have much support in the bends, the sunroof leaked, and the metal dash trim reflected sunlight into your eyes almost constantly!
That said I've never EVER driven a car that turns more heads, though I was always scared to leave it anywhere lol.
Enjoy!

I test drove on of these and didn't buy in the end - mainly because it wasn't quite what I needed at the time. It was relatively quick, but "only" 150bhp, so it isn't going to set the world on fire.
I have a question though - is the VVC engine easy enough to tune, as the MGF obviously had the same motor (?) with more power??
I am now looking at these again, as I want a nippy, interesting GTI-esque car and love the red upholstery!!
