i'm just trying to find out some info on fitting a K series into a marina, it's the 1.4 out of a metro Gti, i know i can source a Caterham bellhousing then run a ford 'box so it would be rear wheel drive!! apart from that i'm clueless

Can't be alot of help but the gearbox tends to from a sierra I believe. How will you get the engine turned and will it still fit? Then you get all the cooling problems that Caterham owners get and then the head gasket goes!
Is it really worth it?

I agree I'd pick a better engine - how about a fiat twin cam like they put in the moggy's
