Hello

I currently have the above issue with a TVR Chimaera with a 4 litre Rover RV8 engine.
It's been a bit of an ongoing saga - apologies for the cut & paste, but I've summarised it here -

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Before the engine is stripped down again, I'm posting here on the off chance that someone may suggest something else to check?

Would appreciate any comments.
Many thanks.

Reading the details of the thread there does seem to have been a substantial list of possible suggestions. In the circumstances I can understand your concern. I presume you have exhaustively pressure tested the engine in situ and can find no leaks? That being the case and on the basis that you have tried all the suggestions on the other thread rebuilding may be the only answer. On these big capacity blocks is porosity of the block a problem? Wealth of knowledge on these engines but in your case no successful cure. That being the case......

Thanks for the reply. The car is currently back with TVR specialist who has done extensive testing - there is a reluctance to take it apart due to time and expense, hence my post here just on the off chance something may have been missed.
