Theres an old guy ( early 90's) who lives across the road from me and he has obviously seen me working on my various cars over the years. He has just sold of his own car a Rover 400.

Recently I was under elbows deep in an engine bay when he came over and gave me a couple of workshop manuals he has had for some time, thinking that as he was "getting rid of stuff" I being an enthusiastic mechanic would have a use for them.

I told him that I wouldn't have a use for them, but he asked me to pass them onto others who might.

So I have in my hands an original owners handbook, service book and ICE manual in the original brown leather folder for a Rover 400, the Haynes Service and Repair manual for a Rover 214 and 414, and an official complete ( or so it looks) factory workshop manual ( including fold out electrical deiagrams) in a lever arch file for the Austin Rover Montego range dating from at least 1988. It even covers the turbo charged and auto models.

I suggested that I would put them on ebay for him but he simply said that he would be glad to get rid of them so I'll be happy to let anyone on here have them in return for the postage cost that I pay, being donated in turn by the recipient to "Help for Heroes".

Anyone want them? If so let me know. I feel duty bound to the old gent to at least get them to someone who may find them useful.

Cheers,

Tony
