Hi,

I've just bought a 2000 reg CDT and I'm going to replace the coolant. In the Haynes manual, and elsewhere on the internet, it says the old stuff can be removed by draining it through the cylinder block drain plug.

Apparently this is 'on the front of the engine, above the turbo-to-exhaust downpipe flange'. I've looked and can't find anything! Searching elsewhere, people have said it is in other places - one person even said it was on the back of the engine.

Does anyone know where this is?

Thanks

For anyone interested in one of these great cars

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200957407164?ssPageName=...

This is a truly great car - Only considering selling as we are moving to a one car family
The build quality is amazing, you can feel the BMW influence in the manufacture
It drives quietly - no squeaks or rattles as you would expect from any high quality car - Perfect for effortless motorway driving

Very well maintained with a full service history plus the very expensive Cam Belt change carried out by a Rover specialist (£650)

The is the full spec SE model - which in addition to the expected refinements also includes Full Leather, electric, heated seats and a factory fitted Harmon Kardon sound system

The car had only done 23k when I bought it in Nov 2011 - I have done the remainder in mainly smooth motorway miles

There are a few light scratches on the alloys and a small dent at the base of the rear wheel arch which is very hard to notice

Overall the car is in fantastic condition and drives faultlessly - extremely comfortable cruising on motorway as it was built as an executive saloon car

The leather is supple and in excellent order

If you are in the market for a comfortable, quality car - you can not go wrong with this - The Car is either based in Cardiff
