Rover V8 engine size???

I have a 1987 TVR 350i with a Rover V8 (standard TVR fit), the V5 from DVLA shows the engine size as 3498cc, engine number 37A00715C! My insurance company queried this when I first insured it, they said 'surely you mean 3528cc, that's the early V8 engine size?'. I can find no Rover engine of 3498cc....any ideas?

Kudos to your insurance company for knowing that bit of trivia, by the way.
There is a bit of stuff around the internet suggesting that 3.5 litre may have been a cutoff for some race series, so sometimes it was put down as a 3498cc engine. That may not be true. Either way, I think the DVLA's record is probably wrong.
