The car is a 1997 200 1.4.
Started a couple of weeks ago, plugs and leads are 1 year old and I replaced the rotor and distrubutor yesterday. I haven't replaced the coils or the lead from the coils to the distributor because I can't get to it.
It was fine yesterday when I gave it a test run but today driving to work when misty and a little rainy, 3 cylinders mostly, jumping to 4 and then mostly 4 after around 10 minutes.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Bob

Try spraying everything with WD40. Seem to remember having the same problem with ours and also being unable to renew the distributer to coil lead but can't remember why, quite a few years ago. Seemed to work. HTH.

Thank you. It seems much better now though but will see what it's like tomorrow morning. Wd-40 seems to sort everything!

So damp is getting somewhere it shouldn't. Check all connections, with the rubber boots it can be hard to tell if a lead is on all the way. Check lead insulation for signs of cuts or chafing.

Try running the engine in the dark. Look for any arcing around leads, plugs, dizzy and coil. Mist a bit of water around with a trigger spray.
