One of the lads took our old 75 pool car today - and as usual whenever he has it something fails.

The mileometer / trip seems OK in the centre of the panel - but the main dials on the instrument panel have all stopped. So that's speedo - rev counter - temperature and fuel gauges.

Nothing about it in the handbook. Anyone had experience of this, or any clues please ?

Check the fusebox - there are (I think) four fuses for the instrument cluster, so one of them may have popped. Other than that the usual suspect for this sort of thing is water in the ECU.

Cheers

Actually tried that earlier thanks - and bingo.

All fuses looked in place - all were taken out and looked fine. But re-seating did the business.

Typical manufacturers - the handbook listed the fuses in a certain layout. The panel was totally different. Google came up trumps with the correct layout.

Even the rear window wiper worked afterwards (for half a sweep). Luckily not on the MOT, but useful if working (says the man who recently reversed into a steel fence, due to poor wet weather view). I wonder if we can get the car to 200k ? 150k in our abused ownership and 22k needed still. The final straw might be when the original exhaust gives in.
