Is there a City Rover Owners Forum or what ?
Discussion
So I had an email for my GREAT aunt. I quote:
Can I ask your advice about my little red CityRover, which is doing pretty well at 7½ years old.
But the immobiliser fob attached to one of the keys has broken. First it failed to work, so Bob put new batteries in, then it very soon failed again, so he took it apart but couldn't find any fault. When he looked it up on the web it seems that a new one would cost over £60. We have the learn fob with lead. But have no clear instructions as to how to activate the new fob. I imagine this must have happened to other people, and I wonder what they have done.
If the other key fails I could get stuck somewhere, as there's no way of starting the engine without pressing the immobiliser button..
We did get stuck with the one that failed, Katie and John were in the back. Fortunately we were only in Banbury, so we all caught the bus home, picked up the other key and went back to retrieve the car.
If you have any advice to offer, you'll probably have to speak to Bob as all this technological stuff is beyond me. But I do like driving.
See you soon!

Might be worth posting on here: MG Rover Forum - Other cars
Other City Rover posts on there - or they may know of another forum to try.
Good attitude from GA too - "I like driving"

It doesn't matter what the car, it's how you drive, not what you drive. It's in the family to get 'Screwed' by rover dealers. When her father (my Granddad) retired in 1976, he traded his Wolsley 3 Litre in for what he was told by the BLMC dealer was the modern version of it. An allagro Vandom Plas.

A close family friend has a City Rover much to the chagrin of her son... Most uncool apparently ... Had it about seven years and has provided good cheap, reliable transport during that time. Previously she had a Corsa diesel. Now THAT'S definitely uncool. Driven the CR a few times. It's strictly a 'does what it says on the tin' vehicle. Lift the bonnet and there's four big letters across the engine cover:~ TATA ~ the folks that have revived the fortunes of JLR where the folks at both BMW who sold it to Ford for 1.8 Billion who also failed to do so whilst under their stewardship.
I have seen the TATA logo on some F1 cars this season. Good for them!
