Although probably not for the rover purists I decided to remove the centre exhaust box and let the "flowtech raptor" mufflers do their job and it sounds fantastic, remarkably like the mustang in Bullit. Built into this mod is the facility to replace the existing box fairly quickly as I used flanges that can be unbolted easily.

I agree, a shame, I'm no rover fan to be honest but this model does it for me. When you do any work on this car you can see how antiquated there methods were:- example, nearly every fastener has a nut bolt washer and spring washer with very few captive nuts etc.Agree with the comment above, the essence of what rover should have remained is captured perfectly in this model. Shame on them for how the brand ended up.
