I've had the MG version for a couple of years now and mechanical parts wise there doesn't seem to be a problem, not that I've needed much anyway. Body panels may be another matter though. Might be worth looking at the MG Rover Forum though. There's plenty of info on there, just don't be put off by what might go wrong. It probably won't on your car, but some of the preventative advice is good. Pretty sure all car forums are the same, whatever the make.
You're lucky - Rover is just the latest in a long line of orphaned brands from the old BL. Due to the MGZT being very similar a lot of the bits are available.
