Hi All, I have been reading these threads for a few weeks now, and id like to thank everyone who has posted tips and advice.

I collected my 2001 Tuscan (Titantium Met) last week and so far im loving it!!...... however

handling at speed does not inspire confidence (compared to my old Elise or Boxster)

Contrast on the pod goes weird after an hour and a half of driving.

Hot gear stick and Handbrake.

Regardless of that...it is still an awesome car and i cannot stop grinning every time i push down on the throttle !!!!!!!

Well done, colour sounds lovely any chance of a pic, I wasn't grinning when i first put my foot down, was too busy trying to see, as everything went blured, got used to it now and yes the grin is hard to loose.

Hi and welcome
I too entered into the world of Tuscan ownership after a Boxster. The biggest mistake is to make comparisons. Once I had got over that hurdle the car just got better and better. The easiest way to describe it is how many times do you make up an excuse just to get out in the Tusc? I bet its a damn site more than in the Boxster. Be prepared for a sometimes frustrating ride, but worth it all the same.
Let us know how you get on!

Stick a small sock over the gearstick! Works fine in hot weather! (No raised eyebrows please, it works for me!)

Welcome to the Tuscan Forum, by the way!

get the geometry checked, tyre pressures checked (with a digital gauge and wheels balanced, it's cheap, needs doing often and will surprise you how much it matters. As for the rest.....TADTS

I'm waiting to get mine, should pick it up next week. Just having a few stone chips fixed and then I'm ready to fly. I have to say that I'm getting a little excited now. The Merc CLK430 is a bit of a hulk to drive about and the change should be good.

I'll be driving from Steyning to Crawley every day

Let me now how you get on.

Hi Ian,
Welcome to the camp, I must say travelling at speed I had the utmost confidence in the cars handling and traction over 155ish, however the braking felt a little spongy and I think that needs looking at.
But for me the Tuscan is best at 20mph, knowing within in your innerself, that you can unleash the beast at your pleasure and convenience, and not to feel pressured by the boy racers which in not too distant times past, I belonged to that club.

Best Regards,

James Sim.

ar... there is honesty there Jim. It's like students isn't it ? All wa%kers... I mean yeh yeh.. I was one once.. but I mean.. wa£kers they are, the lot of 'em.

I was out on the blade about 3 months back, just come out of the cinema, and at the lights, this bloke on the ned boy-racer circuit one way system, pulls up next to me on a 50cc moped and waves at me to race him away from the lights....

the pleasure of just not moving when the lights went green and watching him buzz away in a cloud of buring oil will be cherished for years.

muppets.

I must be getting old.
