I don't know if anyone has read my profile, but I am hoping to get this certain 2002 S within a week or two and would actually like to know abit more about them, a such as:

Will it have a close ratio gearbox?

What is the ground clearance like? (for getting on and off the ferry)

About what time was the finger follower problem addressed? (After June 02)

Exactly what standard equipment should it come with as a standard car from the factory?

What problems can I expect?

Last but not least, exactly how much fun are these? As much as a 500 Chimp or more?

Kindest Regards

- Yes it should have a close ration gearbox but you can check with the factory to confirm.

- Well I never really found ground clearance too much of an issue but I understand lots of Tuscan owners go to Le Mans without issue.

About what time was the finger follower problem addressed? (After June 02)

- Early 2001 or so. It shouldn't be an issue now. I had my car for 6000 miles without any problems at all.

Exactly what standard equipment should it come with as a standard car from the factory?

- Well the only options on an S are full leather and autochanger (I think) Otherwise it has all the goodies! Make sure you have Hydratrak though!

What problems can I expect?

- Sore face, empty wallet and possible problems with the police when your wife keeps reporting you missing when you spend 5 hours driving for a newspaper when it should have taken 5 minutes...

Last but not least, exactly how much fun are these? As much as a 500 Chimp or more?

- I think it was phenomenal fun. It is a bit edgy but that was part of the excitement for me!

PS. What colour are you getting?

Is the ground clearance much of a problem?

It won't put me off, just like to know what I'm in store for!

And as for the grin,........... The 500 Chimp did that in style!

Just take is easy over them, I've had mine from new since March'03 and have never had a problem wih the front splitter on speed humps, ok it has a few scratches underneath but they are quite strong.

I managed to take a chunk out of my splitter, but that was because I didn't see a huge brick hump in time, and clouted it at about 20

Apparently it's £250 for a new one, and just 3 bolts to undo to replace it.

I'm now in the process of adding additional fibreglass to the underside of the splitter to strenghen it up, then spray it up so it will look as good as new! Its an easy job, cost me £15 in materials and not the £100 quoted at the crash repair centre. Result!!
