Has anyone had their speedo go all over the place when you go past 80mph? Every time I do so the needle goes crazy? And any idea how to stop the rear windscreen from squeaking all the time?!?

Thanks in advance!

The rear windows can be fixed at the dealer. However the wobbly speedo usually means that the pod has to be shipped back to the factory for repair.

Squeaky rear screen can be fixed by applying the soft side of some velcro along the top of the screen to stop it rubbing on the inside of the groove on the roll over hoop - if you see what I mean!
Also a strip along the boot edge where it holds the screen in place.
While you are in the boot, make sure the catches are done up tight - some times the screws holding them in lace come loose and the screen can move around.

Speedo is a known problem and can be fixed by TVR as has been said - should be a warranty thing if you have one

The wobbly needle is something I have had in the past. I found thet it used to happen above about 80 however when I did an amount of driving above this speed it appeared to get better and now only seems to happen above 100 (on a private road or on the continent). Could it be that the mechanism is a little oxidised and moving the needle over them a bit cleans them up ?

Is it just the needle or is the digital readout spinning as well? Mine did it, and used to wizz around when the car was stationary! It seemed heat related as it only did it when the car was v. hot. The pod went back to Blackpool but that didn't solve it. In the end they fitted a new transducer and it's been fine since.

Just had mine fixed last week. Sounds like a dodgy speed transducer. It is a 15 minute job to change it, new ones cost about £70 though.

My speedo once registered 150 mph. The problem turned out to be my right foot pressed down too hard on the accelerator pedal. Fortunately, I realised before the pedal went all the way down to the floor. I have fixed this problem by installing a wife.

Speedo malaise was a common complaint from early road testers who found the speedo wouldn't drop as speed did and just kept adding to the previous top speed as the loud pedal was applied again. Hence hideous tales of Tuscans doing 80 or even 90mph on the British public highway. Shame on them. I had 140 on a steep uphill part of the A30. It seemed to be about 60. It was still accelerating like a thing possesed. Must have been 60. Surely it couldn't strain my neck at 140-did i mention uphill?
I complained to the dealer. Speedo over reads. I said.
No sir. You have to adjust your perception.
Oh really.
Like I had to adjust to the perception that it had aircon as advertised. Or the perception that it had been serviced? Ever?
Aircon came fitted about 6 weeks after I bought it.
Its a bit difficult has to go back to Blacky for repair.
Or fitting?
1900 squid oooooooooooh?
He He He. I didn't pay.
Oh and the speedo did seem ok after all.
Fortunately the rat faced man is no longer able to claim legitimacy in his TVR sales. I do feel sorry for the VW W12 owners out there.
