Oh shit! I have put down the deposit on a new Tuscan S!

Sorry Andy but I have to copy your interior. Magnolia and Oxford Blue interior.

I think Dodge Viper Blue for the exterior but any other suggestions would be welcome!

Haven't bothered with Full Hide but went for Hydratrack and a Geodesey Camera Detector. Does anyone have experience with these devices? Do they work?

Also after reading about stone chips I have gone for Amourfend on the most exposed places (Grille, Wheel arches etc..)

I have a build slot for Early May and delivery Mid June which is coincidentaly near my birthday!

Only problem is insurance. Any suggestions? Tescos want £2500!

Try Sunninghill Insurance. Best quote by £1k for me this year. And damn efficient with it.

Mine is in GTS Viper Blue, Great colour. I can e-mail some good pics if you wish(e-mail me with your address).

Interior is Prussion Blue And Portland.

Try Sunninghill Ins on 01276 474844 and speak to Malcom they are excellant and have a TVR only policy including free trackday cover and Euro breakdown.

They were by far the cheapest when I looked and they are good policies.

Cheers b11ocx!

Quoted £1868 from Sunninghill! Not bad for someone who has 10 points and one claim! Whoohoo!

Actually 5 points have come of in Feb and 5 more in July so a clean license!

I have one week to decide the spec!

I have decided on the following -

Tuscan S (Obviously)

Half Leather
- Didn't see much point in full leather unless someone convinces me otherwise

Hydratrack
- Were not all perfect!

Geodesey Camera Detector
- I need all the points I can get! I have received several replies that has convinced me to get one.

Tracker
- Insurance purposes

6x CD Autochanger and Speakers
- Of course!

Armourfend
- Going to get the main bits done like grill, front of bonnet and wheelarches.

Just need to choose an interior and exterior colour!
I like the Swordfish colour but don't want any hassles in retouching the paintwork.

Does anyone have experience when retouching a Chameleon/Reflex colour?

Cheers All!

Leatheradams,

According to the Chromaflair website the Reflex colours are no more difficult to touch in than a flat paint, however I dont know if this is the case in actual practice.

For the fella looking at colours, my Chim is Starmist Blue, pic in profile.

Personally I am very fond of Crystal Topaz Pearl - there's one on TMS forecourt at the moment, check their web site www.tmstvr.co.uk
Otherwise I'd go for a really outrageous colour - after all this is an outrageous car Something like Cameleon Orange would really look the business me think.
Finally, I love the color of my Chim: Jaguar Antigua Blue, but I reckon you'd have to see this one on the flesh for I have never managed to see a decent picture.

Speccing you Tuscan... what a nice worry to have. Well done !

Cheers

I covered 6000 miles in my swordfish spec Tuscan and had to retouch a few stone chips. I can confirm that it's just as easy as any other. The car subsequently got crashed by the dealer and they had to replace the front wing and respray, again the match was perfect.

cheers,
Mike.

Chameleon Orange is a cool colour but I don't recommend it cause it would clash with mine

Can you tell me why you went for the Hydratrak option and why? Im not sure exactly what it does...

Is it really a 'safety net' for over enthusiastic use of the right pedal - will it make a difference or 'help' my Corrado VR6 driving g/f who presses the loud pedal too far>

Cheers

Ive got a Swordfish spec tuscan and have had no problem with stone chips after trying not to drive so close to everyone as I used to do in the cerbera.
It's done 11,000 mile sin less than a year which includes 2 trips to Le Mans and a week long whizz ( I took the long way round!) to Monaco and back. It gets used almost everyday and the problem came when someone backed into me - slight markwhich the chap paid for.

I actually regret not ordering full leather on my Cerbera. I went for some extra around the tunnel and
fascia, but if I had my time again I'd pay the extra
and go the full leather route. Just a bit more of a luxury feel. Smells nice too. Other people always think it's full leather though....

I was told by my dealer not to bother with hydratrak, as it saps some power and hardly makes any difference.

I recommend a DAB tuner. I love the reliable radio quality, although the aerial does stick out of the back of the roof, spoiling the looks somewhat.

Think I'll leave the full leather option as its £2000 more and I need that for the petrol...

My thoughts exactly ... You'll need that petrol too! Soooooooo addictive these cars!

And like someone else said above, everyone always thinks/presume's the car is full leather anyway, so its not like the difference is glaringly obvious!

Steven,

Just one thing I'd suggest - you need a decent plate to go with your new swordfish car

cheers,
Mike.

A very dark green may work with the Chameleon Blue quite well I reckon, could even go biscuit, or that may be a little too orange, could be interesting though.

Nice to hear that its true about the Reflex paint stone chips, that was a worry, my mind is now made up, roll on 2004!

Does anyone remember the early 'sunburnt orange' Tuscan that was tested by one of the magazines a while ago? It had black wheels and I think they tested it against a dancing donkey or something similar.

I'm aiming to get a Tuscan S next year and would like it in black, but was wondering whether it would look cool with black wheels (like the orange car I'm talking about) and if anyone has seen one specced like this, or has seen the orange car and has an opinion on how it would look? I'm wanting to go for the true 'Devil's Car' look!

Cheers.
