Tuscan R is on its way ....
Discussion
Good news from the factory:
Have seen the press car in build. Will be ready for road testing in 6-8 weeks...!!!
Car will be very special with carbon fibre bodyshell and aluminium honeycomb chassis, also same suspension as race cars.
Slightly mods on the roof line and the back end and also new rear lights arrangement compared the purple prototype.
It will get a very special interior, new alu panels and a very special LCD instrument pod.
All in all it looks very similar to the latest Tuscan R racecar from the Eclipse team.
I was very impressed and will go for one for next year delivery.
Cheers,
Christof

Hi Christof,
Saw your beast coming off of the M20 heading towards Brand's on Sunday, I was in the Wifes ML with the kids in the back stuck in traffic comments from my 2 boys, look, look Daddy it's Batmans car WOW , they were so excited by it... wife even liked it and she hated my Speed Six.
Looked great, hope you had a good trip over.
Cheers

Guys,
was not allowed to take piccies, but this beastie impressed me in any way.
No performance figures yet, but expect figures between Tuscan Racer and Cerbera RR, that means: 0-60: ~ 3,5s and 0-100 around 8 s.
That baby will eat everything with 4 wheels...
Quoted weight was 1050-1070 kg in REAL(!!!), race engine will have around 450-470 bhp, depends on exhaust system.
WICKED....
I will go for the race engine, but will not buy all the other stuff, like sequential gearbox etc.
I was also told that you will get the R only with that engine...
So good news, expect the press car on the road in 6 weeks...
Cheers,
Mad Christof

Christof
I got to see the beastie in the pits at Brands, but couldn't find you. The Tamora was stuck in a bloody field because Brands wouldn't let us park in the infield
Hopefully we will get to meet another time.
Can't wait to see the R

Hi Leatheradams,
don't know if TVR will redesign the Tuscan range ...
Was not allowed to drive the R. Current car is much more a standard Tuscan with longer wheelbase than the the race car.
The R has nothing common with the "normal" TVR's. It's similar to the R racecars with honeycomb chassis, flat underfloor with rear diffuser and carbon fibre bodyshell . It also has racing suspension with full adjustable Penske dampers. That means the R is handlingswise in another league than any other TVR.
You have to have a look at the press car being in build and you will be very impressed.
The R will definitely be a big step forward for TVR and it will play with the big boys, like Ferrari, Lambo and Porsche. Performancewise it will be in another league, hopefully handlingwise too.
Give Danielle at the factory a call and ask her for more details, but don't forget to say HI from me
TED....: What about doing a Tuscan R section...???

Flash,
So was it you we waved at on our way out of Brands? - We were in a dark blue Chim. You - if it was indeed you - were standing next to a yellow Tamora, parked in a field with a fair few other Tivs. I said to my other half - bet that's Flasher....
Alex
Yeah I do remember seeing you two waving madly at me and Benno while we were taking the roof off
Shame that we all couldn't park in the same place. Benno used to organise this at EVERY GT event but someone (who will remain nameless ) phoned him and said they would take over..... since then it's all gone tits up and the geezer who made the phone call doesn't even go to the GT's anymore
Anyone going to Donnington at the weekend??
I will be there, parked in the infield......
Christof, how long do you have to wait before you get the new beastie???
I think TVR should look at redesigning the rear end of the Tuscan to incorporate the Tamora/Tuscan R diffuser. I'm sure it would then do without the Gurney spoiler and would help out the rear end stability...
Christof... Would you like to sponsor the above styling project?
At least it would look different!
