Hi

Saw you today, stuck in a tailback on the M62, just before you get to the 'house in the middle of the motorway'! If you've ever been on the M62 you'll know what I'm talking about.

I was in the workhorse going the other way, also held-up by people 'rubber-necking' at the accident.

Me and my wife Julia were only discussing that house yesterday (being from Huddersfield) believe it or not. Owners of the property refused to sell up in the sixties, resulting in that mega detour, can,t imagine what it cost and just for the sake of a few sheep!!!!!

Ken & Beth Wild's house.

Legends.

I would love to know just how much money they were offered to move. Must have been huge considering the additional structural/building works.

Didn't Everest Double Glazing use that house for their advertising campaign in the late 70's? We've been trying to remember the name of the chap who was in it.

Can you help!?
