Just thought i would post this as the everyones Tuscans is rubbish crowd is back.

I have a 2000 Tuscan and Love it. The looks, The Sound, The Power and the reliability.

My Tuscan has never let me down and i use it every day for work. Rain, shine or snow as in last Wednesday. I don't just use it for driving to shows and TVR meets and tucking up in the garage at night.

It starts every time and when i get in it every day it brings a smile to my face. I couldn't care less if it broke down every month, that feeling when you drive it, the comments from other drivers and the sound of that engine make every day a special day in my life.

The worst i have had is squeaky brakes and i can live with that. I guess according to some of you out there that squeaky brakes is a major TVR design fault and had they spent years of testing on a testtrack before actually launching it publicly could have been avoided.

Why don't you whingers who constantly moan about it's reliability actually buy one rather than talk about, i would have bought one but my lifes so boring i thought it would be better to moan about them instead.

Own one and enjoy it for what it is, Brilliant.

parked it at the gym today and just stared at it for a few mins from the front 3/4 angle.

I am 100% behind you in your feelings. I have a 03 Tuscan, and I smile every time I get into it. I have had the self made problem of a flat battery but I am the only one to blame as I do not use it every day, but for pure fun, and head-turning, it can not be beaten.

I'm with cdd on this one,
My 2000 Tuscan now has 20,000 miles on the clock and the only problem I have had is having a new clutch fitted and the heating being tempremental, car starts evertime runs as smooth as u like and sounds amazing, oh and I too use mine everyday :

I love mine too, it's just such good fun.

But it has had a new engine and several visits to the dealer on the back of a flatbed, broke down on the way to Le Mans 300 miles and 1 day after it's latest service, and has cost me about 6 grand in all in 14 months.

Now some aren't as patient as me but for the time being I'll join the "Tuscan ownership is great" thread!!

Also in the no problems camp. I have a 2002 Tuscan S. It has done 15.5K and is used daily for commute and every weekend for longer runs. I have learnt to live with the squeeky breaks...but this has been drowned out since I had new cans put on!!! By far the best upgrade is the close ratio box...really notice the difference in 1st and 2nd!!! Have never driven anything with performance like it!

Ilove mine to bits too, granted only 6k miles but looking forward to a lot more. If it breaks I'll get it fixed.

Cars that are driven regularly always fair better than
those that are not (all makes), plus you gain maximum enjoyment from them at the same time, and yes the Tuscan is a beautiful looking car.

I'm with you on this one! I don't drive it nearly as much as I would like to (wish I didn't work in London), but when I do, its wonderful and hasn't mised a beat.

Jamesy, when did you last get your brake pads changed? My brakes used to squeak, but the last 2 sets of pads have not squeaked at all, dealer says the pad material is always changing, so if your pads are old you may be OK with a new set - dealer also said driving it like I do helps, some good stops from speed help clean the build ups off the disks - honest officer, the dealer said I HAD to brake that sharply

Graham - also "loving it" (to quote a fast food advert)

Me too. July 2000 Tuscan owned for 10 months and appr 8k miles. The car has been fine since changing the battery 2 days after I got it, and I now miss it so much as I will not be driving it again until April. I can't think of much else that would be as much fun to drive regardless of price. Keeping up with sportsbikes is my favourite pastime.

I was out on Sunday near Harrogate and came across one of those sporty Fiat's, a 360 I believe. Came to a nice straight piece of A59 and he floored it. I think he was a bit surprised when he looked in the mirror and saw that I was still right there behind him.

TVR Tuscan. Nothing else comes close.

Just got mine back from Finger follower fix on Monday and although I have to run it in for the first 1000 miles (lots of trips are now looming) it is still a pleasure to drive. So much more fun than the 330i sport which is pretty good itself.

Great to stare at aswell. Zoomed in on it with the security cameras at work too.

Hi Nick,
Smiles are still as wide as Crusty the Clown,I will update my running costs soon as soon as I have received my latest account, but who really cares? they say money can't buy happiness they obviously haven't spent theirs on a Tuscan have they? On a trip off Jersey recently, I got held up in a jam at the front of the traffic when this smarmy geezer cut right in front of me in his SL55 AMG, whilst giving me a look as if "what are you doing on my road". As soon as we were given the green light HE FLOORED IT, now I know it was stoopid, but I swallowed the bait and remained @ 4ft from his tail end, till his limiter came in, he sheepishly pulled over. I then obliged by following him at 70mph for the next 20miles or so till he pulled off, what must have pi$$ed him off, was all the other traffic had caught up and passed us prior to that point.
I know, what the car is capable off, and shouldn't have risen to the challenge, and probably wont do it again, but hey I did feel good for it.

Best Regards

A satisfied owner.

Hey James.....You must have been watching me driving !!
I'm with everyone else here. There's something about the Tuscan's styling that just oooooozes appeal and the engine note is to die for.
