Noticed my car has been modified by someone with a key (or something similar) I now have a nice 30cm scratch down the drivers door.....

Why do these people feel the need to do this? Does it really make them feel any better?

Anyway, am going to try ChipsAway and see if they can repair it and how much it will be - could also get them to do some stone chips if they are cheap, otherwise it is going to be a respray of the door

This pi...s me off totally, if I ever seen someone on a blatant case of willfull destruction, I would follow them and then get my mates from the Star Chamber to sort them out. Is it just a British thing this mindless vandalism as I haven't seem to come across it anywhere else? and should we all club together and pay for Charles Bronson to get the little scroates?

Actually its VERY common in Italy where the aim is to key new cars especially. In a ferrari trip to italy several people had their cars damaged in 'secure'car parks in italy

Yeah,
You're probably right, although when in Italy last year, Modena, Venice and Verona, never seen any vandalism or any signs of it, never seen a Ferrari either come to think of it, I did ask the question of some Italian friends, but they said they were too frightened to show they could afford a Ferrari, and said that they hid them underground till they thought the mafia were asleep, then they had a blast.

Sorry to hear about the damage - Mindless thugs. Thankfully they are so many more people that seem to appreciate these great cars. I lived in the Netherlands for 5 yrs and it was well known that anyone with a car on German plates - would have a 100% chance of having their car keyed.

After a good cleaning last Saturday I came back to find my Tiv had been strawberry milkshaked. Not that bad but still bloody annoying...wouldn't have minded if they'd left a burger too.

Afternoon,

I have also been subject to mindless vandals, people spitting on my car being the most disgusting so far, also had two of my tyres let down. OOH how funny

I lived in Holland as well, the favourite with the German cars seemed to be to remove their number plates - seems it is illegal in Germany to drive without plates and causes them huge amounts of hassle!

Always made sure my plates had the GB badge on them just in case any Dutch people thought all white plates were German!!

In Rotterdam it seemed to be much more common to have the side window smashed than anything else - always loads of broken glass on the road side - fortunately I never suffered that fate!

im not sure id notice

i live in the middle of small country lanes which 'key the car on a daily basis. Got a very good painter tough. £200 to respray a wing and i had the car back the next day - as new. Alarmingly he told me the car had already had a complete respray - badly- there were telltales allover, only visable to a proffesional. I bought it with 1800 miles on the clock. Dealer is no longer TVR thank god.

If you want as god - very good - paint job done in Cornwall then Keith Harris of Pensilva is your man.

Caught a young girl, about 14 or 15, walking across the roof of my Alfa.had a bloody good shout at her but what else can yo do? Moment you lay a finger on her you are a "Sex offender"and I am afraid these kids know it.Called the police who to be fair attended very promptly but nothing was done.IMHO most of the vandalism and bother is caused by gangs of kids on the wander and won't stop until the Police stop trivialising it.

Graham, I had my Tuscan keyed over the weekend. Did you get chipsaway to sort it, or did it need a respray? I am still waiting for my local chipsaway guy to get back from holiday.

Not been to ChipsAway yet as have heard it still shows, am waiting for a price for a respray as I am thinking the stone chips need doing as well - will then compare with ChipsAway and go from there

I put some pics up at http://freespace.virgin.net/g.ingleby/this_is_the_test_page.htm - it isnt too bad, but depressing none the less - at least it is only on one panel and not on the drivers side so I dont see it each time I get in

Ah, the good old days when you could cuff a youngster who was getting out of line and the only words you'd hear were an occasional muttering of "served 'em bloody right"...

If only the bodywork wasn't fibreglass - I'd be tempted to wire a bloody great big battery up to it.

Graham,
Really sorry to hear that. Hope you are able to get it sorted without being out of pocket too much.
