Anyone know why the drivers air vents and the rear air vent only seemingly blow cold air when the temperature dial if on hot?? Or is it me / my car?

Mine does exactly the same, depending where I position the vents I can have either cold hands or cold thighs!

Had the same problem a couple of weeks back easy to fix
look up in the passenger foot well you will see two big rubber hose`s make sure they are mated to the alloy inlet trunking, one of mine had come adrift slightly, que scrached hands legs hanging out over passenger seat and general strange postions

Will have a look tonight!

Spent 2 hours lastnight stripping the steering column shroud to fix the shift light pod firmly in situ... no budging it now! (oh, and re-attaching all the leather back!)

Looks like I'll be joining matt_c tonight (not literally!). I was told the cold air stream was a 'feature' i.e. "they all do that Madam"!

Are you talking about the two vents under the steering wheel? or the main vents on the dash?
I may have confused you the steering wheel vents are cool air only IIRC,But if your dash top vents are cold refer to my original post Tony

This sounds stupid, but I had the same problem and this solution seems to work. When mine blows cold air and is set to hot, I turn the fan power to full and then turn the temp down and back up again. The fan then cuts the air flow for a couple of seconds and then it make a noise as if the air flow valve has just moved....and as if by magic the hot air arrives!!! Who knows with TVR, but this always does the trick!

I was talking about the drivers vents under the steering wheel. Oh joy, I still get to have cold hands and thighs and a hot left foot. TVR's don't ya just love 'em!!!

You could of course CLOSE the vents below the steering wheel and so only have hot air blowing around!

You do know that they swivel shut - don't you? (Not meaning to be rude, but I guess if you bought the car second hand then you may not have been shown this)

I've tried to close mine but they are very stiff. I'll try again but this time with a little more determination!

Yep, it's when they're 'closed' that the cold air comes out through the bottom of the Pod. It isn't a gale force wind, but you'll have to trust me, when I wear a skirt I get really cold thighs/knees from it! Brrrrr

I had a close look last night, and discovered the driver vents are cold air only as they came from a different duct to the dash vents. Shame.

Chim_girl... all I can recommend is 'Bridget Jones pants'!!! (or you could attack the hose connections on the 'Y' piece under the column with some silicon gel to seal it. If it is blowing, it may well be very loose (can you pull the hoses off easily?), so another way to fix it is, a small cut down the length of the tube (say 1") and fasten it in place with a big zip tie.
