I've just got my Tuscan back from the TVR Centre where it has been receiving some TLC. Unfortunately, two of the things it went in for curing have not been cured.

The leaky roof isn't major, the flat spot between 1300 to 2300 rpm in third or fourth though is. The TVR Centre replaced the Lambda sensor as it had been registering faults and thought that had cured the problem. However, the flat spot now seems worse. It almost like trying to full away from stationary in fifth. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong (apparently the engine was also tuned and the throttle bodies cleaned) I missing not being able to accelerate.

When mine had lambda sensor problems the fuel consumption dropped significantly - that was the main reason for getting it sorted (25% down) however now I come to think about it the acceleration was down too. Mine also had a wire break but I assume that they would have checked the sensor output when it was replaced. I hope you get it sorted soon

I had a similar problem which turned out to be a split in the air box (which wasn't picked up at its 12000 mile service!!)

Might be worth checking as they are prone to splitting at both ends - easy to fix with super glue and self tappers

Thanks for the replies. The diagnosis was the HT leads breaking down under load. Cure, new leads and new plugs. Oh, and the valves are also being done, one had zero clearance, which I'm sure would have contributed.

roo, did the dealer say why they thought the clearances had closed ? if not it's worth keeping a close eye on as this could be a valve problem.
