All the dealers will tell you that aircon is a must have if you are planning to sell it on.

Its almost like a required option, if thats not a paradox.

I think that is a little alarmist, Fernhurst never put that view across when I was buying. There are plenty of Tuscans around without AirCon, Lets face it nearly two grand for something which sometimes pumps out coolish air was not going to appeal to everyone. A lot of the Tuscans for sale don't have it and I'm sure they sell.

There is no doubt that if you sit in traffic for any length of time you will suffer from heat soak but not as badly as a Chimp or Griff. Although not having aircon does not prevent the car from being desireable, having aircon will help the car sell but it won't make it worth the extra two grand you pay for it in the first place. Also bear in mind that the aircon unit is very heavy and will be an additional 7% or 8%(Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) of the cars overall weight.

If you plan on using the car only on weekends or for track racing then a/c is not really required. It is in a way like buying a car with 16inch wheels, whilst not insurmountable most people looking to buy second hand will pass by an advert that does not include 18 inch wheels and air con.

Too tuscanboy
- did fernhurst have some tuscans without A/C, that they were tryibg to sell by any chance.

Most dealers I've seen, are speccing their demo tuscans, or new stock tuscans with A/C. so if you think ahead to resaletime , it might not add value, but you might find that you can't sell it without it.

fernhurst told me it wasn't important to have air con, funny, the one they were trying to sell me didn't have it. I'm looking for one at the moment but a/c is top of the requirements list

I don't think ther are very many Tuscans without aircon.
If you remember power steering was originaly an option on the Cerbera but I understand they never sold a single one without it as it was undrivable.

It's just a way of keeping the headline price down to get folks into the showroon.
Also on the Tuscan is works very well, shame they don't put a thermostat on so you can set a temp rather than costantly having to fiddle with it though.
