Anyone know what battery you need for a 2001 tuscan. is it the 096? after reading what people on here have written, a little confused. Is there a standard battery i can buy that wont need to be cut and fits strait in? many thanks.

A selection of 'direct-swap' (072) batteries here...

If you like the idea of the positive terminal being about an inch from your (earthed) chassis, then just get a direct replacement.

The Optima (if you can stretch that far financially) is better as the +'ve terminal is inset a little more.

I changed mine for one of these..., which has the terminals reversed, but you may need to extend or replace the battery-->starter cable to do so.

Thanks for giving me that site, i bought a, Type 072 Varta Asia Car Battery 12V 70Ah, perfect size and power. Fits like a glove. cost £82 delivered and the guy from AA fitted it. better than the £140 the tvr garage wanted.

I had an Optima battery installed. More crancking power. Also more safety because of the leads that connect more on top of the battery and not so close to the framework.
