I mentioned previously that my drivers floor mat and the inside of the door pocket was slightly wet, usually after rain or washing the car. Well on closer investigation it isn't wet at all - it's bloody soaking . I had the mat out already to dry from the last time it was wet and went out on Sunday morning (raining all day Saturday) to wash the car and found the equivalent of about a good tea cup of water swilling around the floor area where the mat would go. Why is this happening and how can I stop it.

Design problem with the Tuscan I'm afraid. You could get the doors readjusted by the dealer...

Mine did it all the time

i had the same problem a couple of weeks ago.Must have been a good inch and a half of water in the passenger foorwell.I have since cured it by fitting another seal on top of the one already there.
The problem started by me getting the doors realined.I thought they had dropped a bit but i guess the previous owner had them set like that to make a better seal.
Now the seal on the window has a tiny gap all the way down it's length which lets in water.
i have put a strip of BaQ's draught excluder down the entire length of the black rubber door seal and it has sorted it.The excluder is p profile and iv'e split it down the length. It's for 3-5mm gaps but i think they do a thinner one as well. The only problem is they don't do it in black.I keep looking around for it but no luck so far.So brown it is,not a brilliant match but better than a stagnant pool!
Worth getting de humidifying crystals after sorting it as well. They work well.
You could also think about keeping newts or other rare amphibians there if you can't sort it.It would give you an extra smile everytime you go for a drive, knowing your helping the conservation effort.Just a thought.
Hope that helps, the bit about the draught excluder that is.

I just come across some info which you may find useful.

My dealer has just told me that if you park nose down on a gradiant during windy rain it is very likely to come in under the door where the kick plate starts this is because of the thickness of the kickplate differs to that of the bottom of the door frame it is possible to have the seal evened out to prevent a gully which fills with water entering into the footwells.

Parking nose upwards greatly reduces/eliminates water entering this way.

Funny that, mine is BETTER parked nose doan, stops water coming in the window at the top of the door - but then I dont have kickplates on my car so don't get that problem!

Grimbo,
Thanks for the advice cos my passenger door's leaking too and your draught excluder fix sounds as if it would do the trick.
I asked the little red finned shark I have in my tropical tank in the living room if he wanted to come out for a spin but he said it would be too cold....
