My passenger pressed the door release button, window went down and door opened - great. Then just as he shut the door the window shot up and clatter, it hit off the door pillar taking a nice chunk out of my body work . Got in the drivers side, turned the button to get the window to drop and shut the door properly. Tried to release the door from the inside again and the outside and the window would not drop which means I have to get in first and drop the window before someone can get in - whats going on?

Uh oh - sounds like the window ECU might be f'd. Or it may be the door-shut switch is faulty.

When the door's open if you click the latch as if to shut it, an open window will close (if it was closed before you opened the door). If the switch is jammed in the shut position then the window might not open when you press the button. That said the twirly window regulator switch should still work.

Is it just the passenger side?
Do the LEDs flash when the car starts moving (both sides)?

Pity there isn't a bible for the Tuscan like Steve Heath's Chim/Griff book!

Good luck.

Edited to say I just read the last sentence of your post properly and I now suspect the door latch is the most likely area that needs to be checked.

Same thing happened to me. The day I bought the car, I was waiting to collect my psychopath from school (I'd promised to collect him in the Tuscan) a friend came over to take a nosey and the N/S glass didn't drop far enough before the door opened, snagging the A post. Then once inside, the door wasn't fully closed and the window went up to skim the paint off the outside of the screen pillar. Three hours old - Bugger!
I took it back to the dealer who told me the window position sensor was disconnected. Apparently sorted, it still shows signs of random behaviour, but nothing too destructive.
