I'm wondering why TVR don't try to launch a new race series to replace the Tuscan challenge, because they currently seem to be only interested in developping the speed six engine...
Why not a Tamora challenge?

Or is it that TVR want to keep the speed eight for competition use and the speed six for road applications? That doesn't seem to make sense because the racing Tuscan R is the center of their attention right now.

Any ideas?
Thank you for any of your theories

Isnt there a planned SpeedTen (V10) for the Tuscan R?

Not sure if this is the engine that will be used in the competition car but I remember someone (Christof maybe) mentioning that there was a V10 in development.

The V10 rumour has sarted right here; Christof has just relayed it, I think.
IMO it is not to be taken too seriously for I think TVR haven't finished developped the speed six and eight units...

What is more a V10 engine would mean a redesign of the front of the car (engine bay not wide enough...?), and the 2 pieces bonnet of the Tuscan has been designed (I think) for inducing down force....
I dunno

I've not heard a thing more about the V10 so I think that may be a case of Chinese whispers...?

Just had a look on the website.

Tuscan R apparently will be powered by:

'The engine is a very high performance version of TVR's own straight six cylinder engine which will be available in a number of different variants including a 4.2 litre as well as optionally being mated with TVR's sequential gearbox.

Power output will go up to 450bhp which will give this car a power to weight ratio of 450 bhp/tonne (cf Ferrari 550 Maranello's 287, Porsche 911 Turbo's 272 and Lamborghini Diablo GT's 392).'

Now that sounds like a proper bit of kit!

Matt.
