Morning all,

OK I got hold of my first Tuscan (first TVR in fact...) a month ago and it's been great; and generally the car has been top notch (including the air conditioning only working when it feels like it, just adds to the attitude!). But just recently I've been experiencing what sounds like a squeaky fan belt and squeaky brakes...these are really only minor issues but they are slightly annoying issues. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to remedy?

Secondly, I wouldn't mind a look at the engine in all it's glory, but I still can't work out how to lift the second part of the hood up...it seems to clash with the front?

Thanks, any advice appreciated (no matter how sarcastic...)

Cheers

Chris B.

For bonnet removal see

Sound like fan belt need adjusting as they do get squeaky when they get slack. The brakes on earlier models (non drilled disc) do tend to squeak due to duild up of break dust,a clean up & applying high temperature grease on the backs of the pads sorts this out for a while.

Cheers NE1961, the fanbelt does stop squeaking when the engine warms to around 90'c. Also the brakes are cross-drilled enlarged so I'll try the grease option...not so bothered by this but it's still irritating!

It may be that the pads are a bit old, my car used to squeal but no longer does, spoke to the dealer service dept and they said the pad material has changed over the years and this may be the reason - they also use copper slip on the back of the pads and recommended a good hard drive and hard braking every so often (which I do anyway )

Hope you enjoy the car, you will get to know it personally over the months
