Confused - T440R / T550R

Bit confused....I phoned Racing Green TVR checking that the car I have ordered is the one with the Super Charger he said yes The T440R !? He was unaware of the T550R prefix, any ideas??

The T440R is a 4.2 litre speed six just bored out from the Tuscan S (400BHP) to make 440BHP hence T440.
The T550R is a Supercharged 4.2 Speed Six giving and extra 110BHP (550BHP) which I believe is an option which Christof has.

Standard car is the T440R (with a 4.2 speed six developing 440bhp), there is talk of supercharging this engine to develop more power which could produce anything up to 550bhp, hence the 550 moniker that is being bandied about.

Had a word about this 'option' with HHC (Hexham, not Harrogate) a few months ago after someone working on the T440R at the factory mentioned it. Found out that although this is a probability, feasibility studies and testings had yet to be carried out so timescale could be anything from 1-2 years before we see it in a roadgoing car.

However anything could have changed in the last few months! Hope so anyway.

If he's telling you it's Supercharged and it turns up without one tell them you want it as he's telling you it's got one

Thanks guys....I think there alot up in the air at the moment and a while away yet so if the option is on the list I suppose its at the time of build that I will be asked "Super charged or non super charged sir"....
I must admit i keep having visions of "Wild E coyote strapped to an acme rocket flying past road runner" when I think of how fast its going to be the Tuscan S was fast but this thing is mad.....
