Ok Tuscaneers, can any body tell me how close driving a Tuscan with the roof off and rear screen out is to the senation of being in a full convertible like a Griff? Or is it like a big sunroof?

Haven't driven a Griff, but have had other convertibles. With both the roof & back window out it's indistinguishable from a full convertable in my opinion. With the back window in it's into sunroof territory, but once that's gone the wind rushes through the car properly and you're open to the elements.

The tuscan with roof off and window out is similar to driving my Chimaera with the roof off and pram down.
Rear window in its like putting the pram part of the Chim up.

I find I sit higher in the tuscan so the top of my head gets more breeze and there is more breeze round the windscreen as well, but in reality there is not much difference.

That's right Bob. The only difference with the Chimaera is that you get more breeze on the top of your head, because the windscreen is much lower on a Tuscan.

I don't think it is *quite* the same as driving the Griff with the roof down, as you are aware that there is something just behind your head, but it's not far off from a totally open top experience.

I think if you jumped straight from a Griff to a Tuscan, you'd notice it, but it's certainly not like having a sunroof.

The one big advantage of the Tuscan though is that you can see through the rear view mirror with the roof off and screen out (or in!).

This was the biggest concern when changing from the Chim and IMHO it`s almost the same you don`t get the same view when looking over your shoulder and you can`t run "Targa" style like the Griff/Chim at over 50MPH due to the "buffeting" effect, has anyone got a cure for this? some times i would like to run around with the rear window in Tony

I dont get a buffetting effect at the speeds I usually drive. Not tried it on a track though . There is a bit more wind noise but no more than there is with the Chim.

To avoid the buffeting (not the self service table with lots of snack food on, usually served at evening wedding parties) but the boom wind noise stuff, simply open one or both windows slightly. You can then get to speeds in excess (no not the austrailian rock band)of 90mph without too much problem. Of course have only tried this on private roads!!!
