New Owner/Clutch
Discussion
I've been a member for a few years now, and been gathering info mainly on the Griff, but last week had a sudden change of heart and bought a Tuscan. (from the Pistonheads classifieds)I am still shaking with shock, that after 3 years of saving/pining i've finally done it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was due to collect it on Wed/Thur of this week from the present owner, he telephoned me to tell me that the clutch has gone, no problem really I’ve to wait another week and get a free clutch.
My first question; is this normal 24k miles(owner says he does not drive the car fast)?
Second; The car is a Christopher Neil at the min awaiting the new clutch which I understand from the David (the owner) is a gearbox out job. Is there anything else worthwhile checking while the gearbox is out, just trying to be a bit proactive?
I’d just like to say that I’m really excited, all my mates are jealous and happy for me as I’ve bored them to tears about TVR’s and pistonheads for the last 3yrs. Cant wait to get to meets and trackdays.
Oh one last thing, anyone have any info on pro driving lessons. I did hear a couple of years ago that a company set up by ex police drivers take you out in your car to learn the driving characteristics of your car in normal driving conditions.

Can't comment about the car as I'm in the market for one in the next 3 weeks myself.
Took one for a spin (not literally) on Saturday and was hooked instantly!!!
As for pro driving lessons I was looking at these last night I was going to call Ride Drive as they do half, one or two day courses. www.ridedrive.co.uk/
Also look on the Oily pages under advanced driving there are a load of links...
